Don't Wait For Perfection!

Have you ever noticed that sometimes when you find yourself feeling stuck in life there is a part of you that believes that you must banish every fear and every insecurity and feel completely confident and clear before you can move forward.

Instead of moving ahead, we tell ourselves that we need to withdraw and focus on self-improvement before we can do the thing, make the change or take the risk.

But here's the kicker. As important as inner work is it can also sometimes allow us to stay hidden. It protects us from the risk of shining our light into the world and potentially being ridiculed or rejected as a result. Ultimately obsessing about having perfect emotions and perfect beliefs and healing every wound and creating a perfect spiritual practice. Is just another way of holding ourselves back.

We can retreat into self-improvement so that we don't have to put ourselves out there convincing ourselves that we aren't yet ready.

But the truth is every time we do something new and every time we grow and expand we will inevitably experience some discomfort, no matter what.

We must stretch and stretching doesn't always feel great. It's not a perfect process.

The discomfort and fear, it brings up our normal parts of the change process.

So we can be aware of what we'd like to improve and continue to work on it as we create movement and our life and take action.

We can continue to process and release doubts and insecurities and fears as we continue to move forward and create change.

Today. I want to gently challenge you. To ask yourself this question. Have I been telling myself that one day I'll be able to make a change? Only after I work on myself enough that I clear every single doubt or insecurity.

Do I believe that I have to wait until I'm perfect before I move forward?

Let's begin to consider that we don't have to wait for the perfect moment when all is healed and in its place, because if we do we miss out on so much. We hold ourselves back.

So here's to you being brave and taking action, even when you don't feel ready, even when it feels messy and imperfect.

Here's to finding more joy in that space between where you are and where you want to be. Because that space is called life. And we are here to enjoy it.
