One of the members pointed out to me the other day that they actually look at something they're thinking about eating... they're considering buying... in this case, it was at the bakery and they ask themselves the question is that food worth the calories that I'm going to be eating? Is it worth the blood sugar spike that I'm going to be getting?
And if it's not, don't do it.
I mean, it is such a simple idea. I love the idea. So I'm gonna start doing that. When I start looking at food, Say I'm looking at that ice cream... you all know, I love ice cream... When I look at that ice cream, I'm going to stop and make the conscious decision at this moment. Is it really worth the calories? Is it really worth the blood sugar spike? Is it really worth the pound or two I'll gain tomorrow morning? Because I am so sensitive to foods now... because I've been eating clean for so long... that when I go off and I eat something like that... and I do occasionally don't get me wrong.
I am not Saint David. There's no question about that. But when I do go off, there's a price to pay. The next day, maybe even the next two or three days.
So I'm going to embrace that. I'm going look at what I'm having. I'm gonna take a deep breath. I'm gonna say, is it worth it? And if the answer's yes, then I'm going to just enjoy every single bite because that's one of the keys .
You enjoy every single moment, every single bite and the food doesn't affect you as much. I guarantee you. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I guarantee you, if you laugh, if you enjoy, if you don't beat yourself up, it makes a huge difference.
So next time you're at a bakery, you're at a restaurant you're at the grocery store. Ask yourself, is that worth what it's going to cost me?
