My ex-wife was hooked on days of our life, and it wasn't until recently I realized how profound that opening is. Like the sands in an hourglass. These are the days of our life...
Like the sands of an hourglass, so these are the days of our life
My ex-wife was hooked on days of our life, and it wasn't until recently I realized how profound that opening is. Like the sands in an hourglass. These are the days of our lives... and these are the days of your life.
I had a recent podcast where I talked about 86,400 seconds in a day and how would you spend them?
Well, there's another way to think about it. The sand in an hourglass, watching them tick down slowly, slowly, that representing the days of our life. Again, how will you spend the days of your life? Will you spend them feeling good, moving easy, doing things you love doing, things you enjoy? Or will you spend them being sad, depressed, lonely?
You don't have to be lonely. You don't have to be sad. You don't have to be depressed.
Seriously. Seriously. You can turn that around with just a thought. You can turn that around in an instant. You can turn that around in a second, and you can enjoy every one of those grains of sand every single day.
You just have to do it.
Don't think that I've got this wired just because I recommend this. I struggle. I struggle with frustration. There are so many things I want to accomplish in my life. So many people I want to reach with this message of health and fitness and joy and happiness. There are so many people I want to reach... and it's not easy.
It's not easy. There's a lot of scam artists out there who have jaded a lot of the public. I mean, our public's very jaded right now for a multitude of reasons... and people just don't believe it. They don't believe that they can live every day with joy, every day with happiness, that every grain of sand... can be a wonderful, wonderful experience.
It's out there. I know it's out there, and I hope you believe me because once you believe it can get better... maybe it won't all get better at once, but a little bit more every day. Maybe today you have an hour of joy and tomorrow it's two hours, and then it goes four hours, and then it goes eight hours... but you start realizing that joy is a choice.
What choice will you make today?
Will you choose joy? Will you choose happiness? Or will you let the grains of sand slip through the hourglass and disappear?
I hope you choose to embrace every minute, to enjoy every second.
Would you please embrace every grain of sand in your hourglass?
We don't know how much sand is that hourglass. It's obscured. But we do know that every grain of sand is precious. Every second is precious. Embrace them. Love them. Love your life. Stop fooling around. Stop burying yourself in tv. Stop burying yourself in in mind altering drugs and alcohol.
Start burying yourself in joy and happiness, and breath and water, and all the pure things in life, all the natural things in life that will help you to thrive.
There we go. That was my soapbox for today. Live your life. Love your life.
Move well, stay healthy, be happy. Live every single day with passion.
I love you. Love yourself.
