Hey everyone. It's Kim. I'm here today to share with you my biggest tip I can give you to maybe start shedding a few inches, pounds, or even just feeling better.
Are you ready for it?
You've heard us talk about it a lot. And here I am once again, bringing it up.
It must be really important if we keep talking about it, right?
Now, this is a lot easier in the summer, but it's not summertime right now. Getting water in, in the winter feels almost impossible. You aren't really sweating so your body isn't telling you, you need to drink. You don't feel as thirsty since it's cooler out. And you just simply forget to drink.
Let's stop for a second and talk about the benefits of water. There's a lot. So I'm going to just cover a few.
We needed to protect our body organs and tissues. It lubricates those joints that in wintertime can feel really stiff and sore. It delivers oxygen throughout the whole entire body, helps regulate body temperature.
Your digestive system depends on water. It helps maintain your blood pressure and it helps with weight loss.
Yep. I said it, it helps you lose weight.
So now how much water should you be drinking?
There's so many studies... And depending where you read or what day it is, you'll find something completely different. We go with half your body weight in ounces a day. And in new study shows, coffee and tea count. Good news for all of us surviving off caffeine. Right?
Although I don't recommend getting all of your daily water from coffee or tea, it's probably not the smartest thing.
So back to water in the winter, how can you get your water in the winter? Here are a couple of things that help me personally.
Try making some tea. It's really nice to warm you up on those cold winter days.
You can also try drinking, just room temperature water, or maybe just warm water. Add fruit. This is my go-to in the winter or summer. Fruit really helps add flavor. I love lemon and strawberry in mine. Plus the lemon helps detoxify your body. So that's a little added bonus.
Make it a routine before you eat, you can drink some water, before you start getting ready for the day, whatever it is, just make it a routine, carry a refillable water bottle with you and keep refilling it when necessary.
This one might be hard for many, but make water your drink of choice for meals and snack time.
No matter how you do it. Even if it's setting an alarm to remember to drink, get that water in, you'll be feeling the benefits in no time.
You might want to make sure you're close to the bathroom though the first few days until your body kind of gets used to all that extra liquid.
That's all I got for now, but I will talk to you guys soon until then make sure to get that water in!
