My entire life I didn't drink to excess, didn't chase women, party hearty our partake in many of the other activities that presented themselves to me on a regular basis.
Instead, every time I got stressed or worried, I reached for my favorite snack, my favorite comfort food.
I bet you can relate to that. Can't you?
Good news is that I basically learned to control my emotional eating, and now I have it under control for 15 years. I didn't get a handle on this situation until I fully understood what emotional eating was and identified my triggers... that caused me to reach for that garbage, the chips, the cake, or whatever else it was that I thought would make me feel better.
And it did temporarily, but boy, the price you pay.
Do you know what I'm talking about?
The scary thing was even while I was overeating, I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that the consequences could be severe. I ballooned up to 259 pounds in the late nineties. That's on a body meant to carry 175 to 190 tops.
And then I was diagnosed with diabetes.
At that point, I went on a mission, a mission to discover the key to getting my health under control. I did a lot of research and I discovered that I was indeed at emotional eater. I figured out the triggers that would set me off.
I cleaned my act up. I learned how to eat healthy for my body and lost a ton of weight. I now weigh 175. I was able to get off of all -100% of my medications, my diabetes medications, the statins, they were wanting to give me. I totally, 100% for the past 15 years have controlled my diabetes with diet. How cool is that?
